Terms of Service
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Ownswer. By accessing or using Ownswer, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. The Service
Ownswer is an AI-assisted product research service. It collects and organizes product-related information from publicly available or otherwise permitted sources, including official websites, videos, discussions, reviews, and merchant pages, and presents structured product issue types, question lists, summaries, citations, and related research tools.
Ownswer is designed to reduce the need for users to manually search, watch, read, and combine information scattered across multiple sources.
2. Accounts
You may browse certain parts of Ownswer without an account. Some features may require you to sign in through Google or another supported authentication provider. You are responsible for maintaining the security of the account you use to access Ownswer and for activity associated with your Ownswer account.
If you are not legally old enough to agree to these Terms in your jurisdiction, you may use Ownswer only with the involvement and permission of a parent or legal guardian.
3. AI-Organized Content and Ask
Some product issue types, question lists, summaries, classifications, and explanations are generated or organized using AI. Although Ownswer is designed to ground product information in identifiable sources, AI-generated material can contain errors, omit important context, or become outdated.
When Ask is available, answers are intended to be generated primarily from the product-specific information and source set collected and structured by Ownswer. Ask may use open-source model components that Ownswer deploys and operates itself and configures or fine-tunes for product-research tasks.
Ownswer is a research and information-organizing tool. Important specifications, safety information, compatibility, warranties, availability, and purchase terms should be verified with the manufacturer, seller, or original cited source.
4. No Purchase Recommendation
Ownswer does not recommend that users buy, avoid, or select any particular product. Product pages, issue types, question lists, summaries, comparisons, citations, and Ask responses are intended to organize available information so users can conduct their own research and make their own decisions.
5. Sources and Third-Party Content
Ownswer may reference or link to third-party websites and content, including YouTube, Reddit, Amazon, official brand websites, independent reviews, merchant pages, and other external sources.
Ownswer does not download or host third-party videos and does not claim ownership of third-party content. We may store source URLs, identifiers, titles, metadata, structured product information, and our own summaries or classifications as reasonably necessary to operate the Service.
External sources may change, become unavailable, contain errors, or express opinions that differ from other sources. Third-party services operate under their own terms and policies, and Ownswer is not responsible for their availability, accuracy, practices, transactions, or content.
6. Affiliate Disclosure and Editorial Independence
Some outbound links may be affiliate links, including links associated with Amazon Associates or affiliate programs operated by independent brands or merchants. If you click an eligible link and later make a qualifying purchase, Ownswer may receive a commission.
Affiliate relationships do not determine product inclusion, product ranking, issue selection, question selection, source selection, summaries, Ask responses, or whether product information is favorable or unfavorable. Ownswer does not accept affiliate compensation in exchange for altering the substance of product research presented through the Service.
Ownswer is not the seller or merchant for third-party purchases. Pricing, payment, shipping, returns, warranties, customer service, and other transaction terms are handled by the third-party merchant under its own terms.
7. Your Inputs
When interactive or Ask features are available, you retain any rights you hold in questions or other content you submit. You grant Ownswer a limited, non-exclusive right to process, reproduce, and transmit those inputs as reasonably necessary to provide, secure, and improve the requested functionality.
You must have the rights needed to submit your content and should not submit sensitive personal information or information you are not authorized to share.
8. Acceptable Use
- Do not use Ownswer for unlawful, fraudulent, abusive, or deceptive purposes.
- Do not attempt to gain unauthorized access to Ownswer, another account, or connected systems or networks.
- Do not interfere with, disrupt, overload, or circumvent security or access controls.
- Do not use automated means to scrape or extract Ownswer at a scale or in a manner that materially interferes with normal operation, except where expressly permitted by us or applicable law.
- Do not reverse engineer or attempt to obtain non-public source code, system prompts, model weights, or proprietary technical components except where such restrictions are prohibited by law.
- Do not use Ownswer to infringe another person’s intellectual property, privacy, or other legal rights.
9. Intellectual Property
Subject to third-party rights, Ownswer’s software, interface, branding, original text, structured organization, taxonomies, and other original materials are owned by or licensed to the operators of Ownswer and are protected by applicable law.
Third-party names, logos, trademarks, videos, reviews, posts, product materials, and other source content remain the property of their respective owners. These Terms do not give you ownership of third-party source content or rights beyond those permitted by the original source or applicable law.
10. Copyright and Content Concerns
If you believe a source reference, excerpt, summary, citation, or other material presented through Ownswer infringes your copyright or other rights, contact contact@ownswer.com with enough information for us to identify and evaluate the material. We may remove, disable, or modify access to material where appropriate.
11. Service Availability and Changes
Ownswer may add, remove, modify, suspend, or discontinue features or parts of the Service, including supported sources, product pages, usage limits, AI functionality, and Ask. We do not guarantee that any feature or third-party source will always remain available.
12. Suspension and Termination
We may suspend or terminate access where reasonably necessary to address abuse, security risks, legal requirements, violations of these Terms, or material harm to Ownswer or other users. You may stop using Ownswer at any time.
13. Disclaimer of Warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Ownswer is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory. We do not warrant that the Service, AI-generated content, summaries, citations, external links, product information, or third-party content will be error-free, complete, current, secure, or continuously available.
14. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the operators of Ownswer and their team will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenues, data, business opportunities, or goodwill arising from or related to your use of, inability to use, or reliance on Ownswer, AI-generated content, third-party sources, or external transactions.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms as Ownswer evolves. We will post the revised Terms on this page and update the “Last updated” date. Continued use of Ownswer after revised Terms become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms where permitted by law.
