Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 15, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Ownswer (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use our website and related services. Ownswer uses AI to collect, organize, and summarize product information from multiple sources so users can research products without manually searching and piecing together information across websites, discussions, reviews, and videos.

1. What Ownswer Does

Ownswer collects and organizes product-related information from publicly available or otherwise permitted sources, which may include official brand websites, YouTube, Reddit, Amazon reviews, merchant pages, independent reviews, and other third-party sources.

Our systems organize this material into product issue types, question lists, summaries, source citations, and related research views. We design product pages so users can see the sources supporting the information presented and review the original context.

Ownswer does not download or host third-party videos and does not store full copies of third-party websites or other external content. Video references direct users to the original platform, such as YouTube, for playback. We may store source URLs, identifiers, titles, metadata, structured product information, and our own AI-generated summaries or classifications as reasonably necessary to operate the Service.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information

If you sign in with Google or another supported authentication provider, we may receive information you authorize that provider to share, such as your account identifier, email address, display name, and profile picture. We do not receive your third-party account password.

Usage and Technical Information

We may automatically collect standard technical and usage information, including IP address, browser and device type, operating system, referring page, pages and products viewed, searches, source interactions, timestamps, diagnostic information, and security logs.

Search and Ask Activity

We may process searches and other interactions you submit to the Service. When Ask is available, we may process the questions and follow-up prompts you submit, the product or source context used to answer them, and the resulting responses in order to provide, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the feature.

Cookies and Similar Technologies

We may use cookies or similar technologies for authentication, session continuity, security, preferences, basic analytics, and service performance. You can manage cookies through your browser settings, although disabling certain cookies may affect functionality.

Affiliate Interaction Data

When you click an affiliate or merchant link, we may record that an outbound referral occurred. The merchant or affiliate network may separately collect information under its own privacy policy. Purchases take place on third-party websites, so Ownswer does not collect payment card information for those transactions.

3. How We Use Information

  • Provide, operate, secure, maintain, and improve Ownswer.
  • Authenticate users and maintain account sessions.
  • Organize product information into issue types, question lists, summaries, citations, and research views.
  • Provide search and, when available, Ask functionality.
  • Understand aggregate usage patterns and improve reliability, relevance, and user experience.
  • Detect fraud, abuse, unauthorized access, and technical problems.
  • Measure outbound affiliate traffic and related service performance.
  • Respond to support or privacy requests and comply with applicable law.

4. AI Systems and Ask

Ownswer uses AI systems to classify, organize, summarize, and explain product information. AI-generated material can be incomplete, outdated, or incorrect, so users should review the cited original sources when accuracy is important.

When Ask is available, answers are intended to be generated primarily from the product-specific information and source set collected and structured by Ownswer, rather than from a model’s general knowledge alone. Ask may use open-source model components that Ownswer deploys and operates itself and configures or fine-tunes for product-research tasks.

5. Sources, Citations, and Third-Party Content

Ownswer identifies sources used to support summarized product information so users can review the original context. Third-party content remains subject to the rights, terms, and policies of the original source or platform.

When you follow a citation, watch a video, open a merchant page, or otherwise leave Ownswer, the third party’s terms and privacy practices apply. Ownswer does not control those external services and is not responsible for their privacy or security practices.

6. Affiliate Links and Editorial Independence

Ownswer may participate in affiliate programs, including Amazon Associates and affiliate programs operated by independent brands or merchants. If you click an eligible affiliate link and later make a qualifying purchase, Ownswer may receive a commission from the merchant or affiliate network.

Affiliate relationships do not determine which products are included, which sources are used, how product information is organized or ranked, which issue types or questions are shown, or whether information is presented favorably or unfavorably. Ownswer does not recommend that users purchase any particular product.

7. Service Providers and Information Sharing

We may use service providers for functions such as cloud hosting, databases, authentication, content delivery, analytics, email delivery, infrastructure, monitoring, and security. Those providers may process limited information on our behalf as reasonably necessary to perform their services.

We may also disclose information when required by law or legal process, when reasonably necessary to protect users or the Service, or in connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of all or part of the business, subject to applicable law.

We do not rent or sell user account information to data brokers or advertisers as a standalone business activity.

8. Data Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide and secure the Service, support legitimate operational needs, comply with legal obligations, and resolve disputes. Retention periods may vary by data type. We may retain aggregated or de-identified information that no longer reasonably identifies an individual.

9. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Your Privacy Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information, such as requesting access, correction, or deletion, or objecting to certain processing. To submit a privacy request, contact contact@ownswer.com. We may need to verify your request before completing it.

11. Children’s Privacy

Ownswer is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that such information has been collected, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

12. International Processing

Information may be stored or processed in countries other than the country where you live, including locations where we or our service providers operate. Privacy protections may differ by jurisdiction, and we will use safeguards where required by applicable law.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as Ownswer evolves. We will post the revised policy on this page and update the “Last updated” date. Where required by law, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent.
